In 1965 Prof. Ernest Rabinowicz (MIT) published his study on "Loss of Usefulness” which revealed 70% of machine failures were caused by Surface degradation.

Micron’s focuses on addressing these "70% of machine failures" using pro-active & lean maintenance practices.
